In an effort to give our family of faith a way to deepen our connections to one another and to grow together as a community, the Congregational Care Committee is excited to introduce a new ministry called Fourth Friends. An expansion of the previous Fourth Friends program, the goals of the new Fourth Friends ministry will be: to better care for our homebound and elderly members. to welcome our new members, and to increase fellowship opportunities and enhance connections among all members of the church.
The responsibilities of Fourth Friends will be to:
Make contact with each individual in his or her group at least one time per month. The size of a Fourth Friend’s group will depend entirely on how many people the Fourth Friend would like. It can be anywhere from one person to five.
Communicate to the Congregational Care Pastor any needs or concerns of individuals in the group, such as medical or family issues or just concerns or questions about the church.
Attend quarterly meetings to check-in with the Congregational Care Pastor and other Fourth Friends to provide feedback on the program, suggest ideas for improvement, and to troubleshoot challenges.
Congregational Care invites you to prayerfully consider whether you are being called to serve in this important “in-reach” ministry of Fourth. If you are interested in serving as a Fourth Friend, or would like to learn more about this ministry, please contact Shannon Cole.
