Startling Challenges for Christian Thought in the Modern World
Can we still talk of a single Christian faith? Could we ever? Given the history of diversity in global Christian thought and expression, can Christian unity ever be reclaimed?
Since the age of enlightenment and the scientific revolution in the 17th—19th centuries, Christian thought has encountered significant and startling theological challenges. During the 2020 Pellett-Wearn endowed lecture series at Fourth Presbyterian Church, we will explore critical twists and turns that have shaped Christian identity, mission, and practice over the past four centuries, and how they continue to impact the Christian community today.
